Austin, Texas - Junior swimmer Paul Torres (Morton Grove, Ill./Niles West) had the opportunity to compete with some of the nation's elite swimmers at the 2001 Phillips 66 National Championships at the University of Texas at Austin on Friday.

Torres earned a second-place finish in the C Flight final and 18th overall with a time of 2:22.45 in the 200-yard breaststroke. He touched the wall in the preliminary heat of the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:24.35.
