    2000-2001 Highlights: Placed seventh in the Midwestern Collegiate Conference championships in the 3-meter diving competition (383.40)...turned in a pair of third-place, season-best performances in the 1-meter (223.85) and 3-meter diving competitions (274.70) to help UIC to a 142-80 victory over Butler...garnered a third-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (23.38) as the Flames earned a 142-93 victory over Valparaiso.

    Prep/Personal: Was a gymnast, swimmer and diver for Hinsdale South...two-time swimming state qualifier...sectional runner-up...two-time all-conference performer...born July 30,1982...son of Wayne and Joanne Scharnak...majoring in political science.
