Susan Bromberg joined the Flames in 2008 as the head diving coach for the UIC swimming and diving program, bringing over 20 years of coaching experience in the Chicagoland area.

Bromberg had previously served as the diving coach for Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Ill for seven years. While at Lake Forest College, she had divers earn 14 NCAA All-American Awards and nine Midwest Conference Champions. She was named the NCAA Division III women's coach of the year in 2006.

Bromberg also serves as one of the head diving coaches for the Windy City Diving Team. This team attracts divers from all over the Chicago area who want to train and compete at a high level. The Windy City Diving Team has developed over 100 IHSA state meet qualifiers, over 30 state meet finalists, and five state champions. They have also had many divers compete at the USA Diving Region and Zone meets and have had several divers qualify for the USA Diving Junior Nationals and AAU National Meets. There have been two national champions under Bromberg's watch, and one diver qualified for the USA Diving Junior National Team and, later, the 2008 Olympic Team.

Bromberg is a member of the Junior Rules Committee and the Member Services Committee for USA Diving. She has served on the NCAA Division III diving selection committee for three years. She also presided over the Illinois Diving Association as president since 2004.

Prior to her position at Lake Forest, Bromberg served as the diving coach at Highland Park High School for a decade. She also spent time at Deerfield, Regina Dominican and Maine East high schools.

A 1983 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Bromberg earned her degree in Health Education.
