Bracamonte, the 200-yard butterfly school record holder and 2000 South American Olympic Trial participant, returns for his second year on the UIC coaching staff.
Bracamonte, a national athlete for his native Peru, has represented his country in the 1999 FINA World Cup, USA World Cup, Pan Am Games and 2000 Olympic Trials.
Bracamonte recorded a career-best sixth-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (51.53) at the MCC Championship finals. His second-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly (1:52.47) was the second-best MCC performance and good for a school-record. Bracamonte also finished 2000 with career-bests in the 200-yard freestyle (1:46.48/UW-Green Bay) and 500-yard freestyle (4:56.99/Windy City Invitational).
