    Swimming & Diving Adds Five To Incoming Class

    UIC men's and women's swimming & diving head coach Paul Moniak announced that five student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent for the 2012 season. In total with the fall signees, the men's squad boasts nine newcomers, as the women add six.

    The UIC men's and women's swimming & diving teams held their annual awards banquet and brunch at the Holiday Inn - Mart Plaza on Sunday, April 1. In addition to recognizing the teams' achievements from the 2011-12 season, the 2012-13 captains were named.

    UIC divers Mike Greco, Woody Lord, Kristi Carling and Whitney Johnson concluded their run at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships on Friday at Indiana University's Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center, while also capping off the 2011-12 season.

    Mike Greco, Woody Lord, Kristi Carling and Whitney Johnson head to Bloomington, Ind., to represent the UIC diving team at the 2012 NCAA Zone C Diving Championships, running Thursday, March 8, through Saturday, March 10, at Indiana University. Competition gets underway on Thursday and Friday at noon (CT) and on Saturday at 10 a.m. (CT) at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center.

    Men Take Third, Women Place Fourth At Horizon League Championships

    The UIC men's and women's swimming & diving teams concluded competition on Saturday at the Horizon League Championships by taking one last individual win on behalf of Melanie Waszak. The men's squad finished in third place with 701.5, while the women came in fourth with 566.5. Milwaukee claimed the title on both sides, with the men registering 901 and the women with 759.5.
