Dec. 10, 2012
CHICAGO - UIC men's soccer midfielder Ivan Stanisavljevic was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division I All-Great Lakes Second-Team, as announced by the organization on Sunday.
At the conclusion of the 2012 campaign, Stanisavljevic was named to the Horizon League's First-Team for the second-consecutive season. He ranked second in the League in points with 21, bolstered by eight goals and five assists, the top mark in the Horizon League.
The Preseason Horizon League Offensive Player of the Year, Stanisavljevic scored four goals in League play, including one goal in three-of the final four matches of the regular season. The Belgrade, Serbia native racked up 47 points over his final two seasons.
Stanisavljevic also chalked up All-Region honors in 2011, when he was named to the Great Lakes Third-Team along with former frontrunner Eric Frazier. He finished his junior campaign as the Horizon League's leader in points (26), points per game (1.37), goals (10) and goals per game (0.53), while ranking second in assists (6) and shots (55) en route to being named the Horizon League Offensive Player of the Year.
In 2009, Stanisavljevic was named All-Horizon League Second Team, while also picking up All-Newcomer honors. He led UIC with seven goals and four assists in his first season in a Flames uniform.
For his career, Stanisavljevic collected 62 total points, which ranks seventh all-time in school history; his 25 goals are the fourth-most in program history. He is one-of only three players in UIC history to tally a trio of three-goal hat tricks during his career.
Since 1999, UIC has collected 22 All-Region accolades, with 13 individual players earning the honor. Stanisavljevic represents UIC's first multiple All-Region recipient since Robert Younger in 2008 and 2010.
