Chicago, Ill. - The UIC soccer team has been ranked 26th in the country, according to the College Soccer News website poll released on Monday.

For the third straight week, the Flames also moved up a spot in the NCAA Midwest Region to sixth. UIC (6-3-1) entered the regional poll in eighth place two weeks ago and moved up to seventh last week following wins over Northwestern and Eastern Illinois.

UIC, which was ranked 21st in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America preseason poll earlier this year, is undefeated in its last seven games with a 6-0-1 record. The Flames went 1-0-1 last week, recording a 3-1 win at Wisconsin, to hand the Badgers their first home defeat of the year. Last Sunday, UIC played to a 1-1 tie at UW-Green Bay.

The Flames' next action is against Northern Illinois on Thursday, Oct. 11, at 2:00 p.m. at Flames Field. UIC then plays its first of five straight Horizon League outings on Sunday, Oct. 14, at Cleveland State.
