Men's Soccer Hosts WHITE OUT Match Against Wisconsin This Wednesday
Sept. 29, 2009
MATCH 8: Wednesday, Sept. 30 * 7:00 p.m. Central CHICAGO- The UIC men's soccer team returns home to Flames Field for a huge regional showdown with Wisconsin this Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. Wednesday's match is the 2009 WHITE OUT match. Fans are encouraged to wear white to support the Flames, and the first 1,000 fans will receive a free commemorative WHITE OUT t-shirt courtesy of American Family Insurance and UIC Athletics. After spending the last five matches on the road, the Flames (1-2-4) embark on a three-game homestand that begins with the Badgers (2-3-2) and concludes with a contest against the nation's top-ranked team, the Akron Zips, next Wednesday, Oct. 7. The Flames, currently on a league-best four-match unbeaten streak, are not looking past the Badgers, as a dangerous Wisconsin side comes in with a history of giving UIC fits. The Badgers ended the Flames' string of nine matches without a loss to begin the 2006 season, and in 2007 UIC narrowly fell to Wisconsin on a late goal at Flames Field. Head coach John Trask and assistant coach Sean Phillips will see a familiar face in first-year Wisconsin head coach Todd Yeagley, as all are former Indiana players and coaches. Trask coached Yeagley, the son of legendary Hoosier mentor Jerry Yeagley, while Phillips was a teammate and fellow assistant with the new UW head coach. Fans can listen to podcasts featuring exclusive interviews with UIC head coaches, staff and student-athletes in two ways: 1.
