Sept. 26, 2001

Chicago, Ill. - Dennis King (Colona, Ill./United Township), a sophomore at the University of Illinois at Chicago, has been named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week it was announced on Tuesday.

King, who also collected Horizon League Player of the Week accolades on Monday, led UIC to a pair of victories last week with a four-goal effort. In the Flames' 6-2 win over Loyola on Sept. 19, the midfield/forward tallied his first career hat trick, netting UIC's first two goals of the game before completing the hat trick in the 78th minute.

Last Saturday, in the Flames' big 3-2 win over 22nd-ranked Bradley, King scored the game-winner in the 55th minute of the second half as he headed in a pass from Josh Robinson (Elgin, Ill./St. Charles). For the year, King leads UIC with 12 points on six goals in four games played.

King and his teammates head to Northwestern on Thursday, Sept. 27, for a 4:00 p.m. showdown before returning home on Sunday, Sept. 30, to host Eastern Illinois at 2:00 p.m.
