CHICAGO – Senior Josh Beard, sophomore Jorge Alvarez and freshmen Gonzalo Romo and Andrew Putna were named to the Belmont Invitational All-Tournament team, it was announced Monday by Belmont.

During the tournament, held at Rose Park in Nashville, Tenn., the Flames went 2-0 after picking up a pair of 2-0 shutout wins against Lipscomb and host Belmont to increase their season record to 3-2-0.

Beard came up with the game-winning goal against Belmont, following a two-shot performance against Lipscomb, while over the course of the two games, Alvarez combined for four shots, three SOG, two assists and a goal for four points.

Romo held a strong presence on the field after helping to disrupt the opponent’s attacks and start it back for the Flames, as Putna was awarded two shutout wins over the weekend as the starting goalkeeper after making two saves during both games and playing a combined 180:00 minutes.

Beard, Alvarez, Romo and Putna will join the rest of the Flames on Friday when they kick off the UIC Soccer Classic at Flames Field.  IPFW and Wisconsin are scheduled for a 5 p.m. CT start, followed by UIC and Gonzaga at 7:30 p.m.
