CHICAGO - The UIC men's soccer team will wrap up the exhibition portion of its season Saturday, when the Flames entertain Lewis University under the lights of Flames Field beginning at 7 p.m. CST. As part of Community Day and Alumni Day, admission to the match will be free-of-charge.

Along with the Community Day festivities, the annual Alumni Day event will be held. Former UIC men's soccer players will be in attendance, and be recognized at halftime.

UIC is coming off a 1-1 draw at No. 12 Indiana in the exhibition opener on Tuesday night. Senior Ivan Stanisavljevic broke a scoreless tie with a goal in the 66th minute of a three-period game, all of which were played in 30-minute intervals.

Against the Hoosiers, head coach Sean Phillips was able to take a look at various lineups and combinations, starting five freshmen in the first period, five in the second stanza and a total of seven freshmen in the third period. In all, 17 players saw action in the contest.

Lewis finished the 2011 season with a 9-8-1 (9-5-1 GLVC) record, and a fifth-place finish in the Great Lakes Valley Conference standings. The Flyers return three players that scored at least three goals last season, including Cristhian Ramirez, who led the team with nine goals in 2011. Goalkeeper Alec Pickett, who started 16 matches last season, also returns as the Flyers' primary net minder.

UIC defeated Lewis, 3-1, in Romeoville during the spring season. Slobodan Aleksov scored two goals for UIC, while Ivan Stanisavljevic scored off a header. Ned Pavlovic assisted on both of Aleksov's goals. Last year's scheduled exhibition game with Lewis was canceled due to inclement weather.
