CHICAGO - The promotional schedule for the 2012 UIC men's soccer season was released on Friday. The six-game promotional package is highlighted by the annual "UIC Soccer Scarf Night" on Wednesday, Oct. 10. The first promotion will be held next Saturday (Aug. 18), when the Flames entertain Lewis University in an exhibition contest and "Community Day" festivities will be held at Flames Field.

Next Saturday's match against Lewis will begin at 7 p.m. CST, and represent the final tune-up for the Flames before opening the regular season on Friday, Aug. 24 at DePaul. Admission to the match will be free, and UIC Men's Soccer alumni will be recognized at halftime.

The "Red Zone" game will be held on Friday, Sept. 7, when the Flames host Georgetown in the regular season home opener beginning at 7 p.m. The first 100 students in attendance will receive a limited edition UIC Flames giveaway item.

Two days later (Sunday, Sept. 9), "Camper Day" will be held, when the Flames entertain Florida International at 1 p.m. All UIC Soccer Camp attendees will receive free admission upon wearing their camp T-shirts. Campers are also invited to a post-game autograph session with members of the Flames' men's soccer team.

On Friday, Sept. 14, when the Flames host IUPUI in the second match of the UIC Soccer Classic presented by the Chicago South Loop Hotel, the popular "Lucky's Eating Contest" will be held at Flames Field prior to kickoff (7:30 p.m.). Lucky's Sandwich Company will be hosting a sandwich eating contest, and free food will also be available for UIC students in attendance, while supplies last.

"Faculty Day" will also be sponsored for the IUPUI match - all UIC faculty members and their families are invited to attend the match with free admission. Call Assistant Director of Marketing & Game Promotions Casie Sullivan by noon on Tuesday, Sept. 4.

The annual UIC Soccer Scarf Night will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 10, when the Flames take on cross-town rival Loyola. UIC students in attendance will receive a limited edition UIC scarf while supplies last.

The Flames' senior class of Isai Lemus, Joe Radice and Ivan Stanisavljevic will be honored prior to the regular season finale (Friday, Nov. 2), when Detroit pays a visit to Flames Field.
