Fairborn, Ohio- The UIC soccer team's season-best three-game unbeaten streak came to a halt on Sunday, as Wright State pulled out a 1-0 victory over the Flames in a Halloween matinee.

UIC (5-10-2, 3-3-1 Horizon League) was in the game the whole way despite being outshot 21-10, including a 12-4 descrepency in the second period.

But Wright State (6-11-1, 3-3-1) needed only one score to come away with the win, as Ricky Strong's redirected shot off a corner kick beat Jeff Engelbrecht in the 54th minute.

Engelbrecht was solid, with only the crazy redirect going past him on a day where he tallied six saves.

The Flames' defense was shorthanded as Tonci Skroce (sprained ankle) and Adam Jones (hamstring) were unable to play due to injuries suffered in UIC's win over Marshall on Friday night.

While the defense played well enough to keep the deficit at one goal, the offense was held scoreless for the first time since a 2-0 loss to Marquette on Sept. 22nd.

UIC wraps up the regular season with a home match against Northwestern at Flames Field beginning at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday's contest will be highlighted by senior day festivities for captains Adam Jones and Ryan Singer.
