DeKalb, Ill.- The UIC men's soccer team snapped its five-game winless streak on Wednesday afternoon with a 1-0 triumph at Northern Illinois.

Senior Bruno Rasich tallied the Flames' lone goal versus the Huskies, netting a pass off the boot of freshman Sinisa Ubiparipovic in the 66th-minute. It was Rasich's third goal of the season and first since UIC's opener versus Drury.

Rookie Ross Cain was stellar in goal for the Flames, making eight saves en route to his third shutout of the season.

UIC played the entire second half with a man advantage after NIU's Brandon Smick was given a red card in the 42nd-minute of play.

With the win, the Flames move to 4-6-2 on the year while NIU drops to 2-10-0. UIC will look to make it two-in-a-row on Sunday afternoon when they host Cleveland State at 1:00 p.m. at Flames Field.
