Madison, Wis.- After starting off the season with a five-game winning streak, the UIC men's soccer team is suddenly mired in a three-game losing streak after Wednesday's loss to the University of Wisconsin, 2-0, at the McClimon Soccer Complex in Madison.
The Badgers (5-5) got on the board in the 28th minute when Erol Goknur took a John Scripp pass and knocked it past UIC goalkeeper Roman Tulis for an early 1-0 lead. Aaron Hohlbein also tallied an assist on the goal.
Wisconsin added an insurance goal in the 69th minute on Nick Van Sicklen's fifth goal of the season. Goknur assisted the score.
The Flames (5-3) were unable to get anything going on offense, managing just three shots on goal. Wednesday's loss marked the second time in the last three games that the Flames were held scoreless.
Tulis did everything he could to keep UIC close, stopping four second period shots.
UIC returns to action on Saturday, September 27th against cross-town rival DePaul at Wish Field in Chicago, Ill.
