    Career: In his two seasons at UIC, the Flames compiled a 30-7-1 overall record.

    1999: One of three players to earn the starting nod in all 21 games?UIC?s fifth-highest scorer with five goals and three assists for 13 points?drew an assist on Eric Lukin?s goal against Saint Louis in the first round of the NCAA Tournament?had two game-winning goals during the year as he scored UIC?s first goal in the 4-0 shutout of DePaul and the Flames? first tally in the 3-0 home victory against Michigan State?assisted on John Collins? game-winning goal in the Flames? 1-0 NCAA Play-In win over Fairfield in mid-November?

    1998: In his first season with the Flames, he started at forward in all 17 games...finished the year with one goal and three assists for five points...lone goal of the year was UIC's second in the 3-0 win at Valparaiso...had an assist on Ryan Lindgren's goal in the 1-0 win over Loyola in the quarterfinals of the MCC Tournament...helped out on Greg Chrisman's game-winning tally in the 3-2 victory at Michigan State.

    Prior to UIC: Began his collegiate career at Creighton University...as a sophomore, played in nine outings while registering one assist...helped the Bluejays to back-to-back Missouri Valley Conference championships in '96 and '97 while they reached the NCAA Final Four in his freshman season.

    Prep/Personal: Lettered four years as a forward/midfielder at Hoffman Estates High School...a two-time Mid-Suburban South All-Conference and all-sectional honoree...a three-time Daily Herald All-Area player and two-time Pioneer Press All-Area recipient...served as team captain, was voted the most valuable player and was also a First Team All-State honoree as a senior...played in the Illinois Olympic Development Pool from 1992-96...born February 1, 1978...son of Sam and Mabel Garcia...majoring in Kinesiology.
