    CHICAGO –Lukasz Adamczyk, Keith Lage, Daniel Hutton and Aaron Eyster were selected as first team All-American Scholar-Athletes, while Dan Zerbel earned second team accolades, it was announced by College Gymnastics Association. The UIC men’s gymnastics team earned an honorable mention as a National Academic Team.

    Adamczyk, who was selected as the men’s gymnastics Elite 89 winner during the spring of 2012, led the Flames atop the list scholar-athlete list in the 3.80-3.899 grade-point average bracket. Adamczyk is entering his junior year, and is majoring in biochemistry.

    Lage and Hutton earned grade-point averages between 3.60-3.699. Lage and Hutton, both seniors major in civil engineering and business, respectively.

    Rounding out the first team is Zerbel, who posted a 3.50-3.599 in the classroom, and is now entering his senior year.

    Adamczyk, Hutton, Eyster and Zerbel all earned NCAA Regional berths, while Zerbel and Adamczyk advanced to the second round of competition. Additionally, Zerbel participated at the Visa National Championship.
