Chicago, Ill. - The UIC men's gymnastics team was named one of the top academic squads in the country as the College Gymnastics Association announced the All-America Scholar-Athlete honorees on Wednesday, a list featuring nine UIC student-athletes.

Four UIC standouts, Kevin Baune, Andrew Stover, David Mohr and Nikolai Korepanov were named first team All-American Scholar-Athletes for achieving a GPA over 3.5.

Andrew Crowley, Jeffrey Bill, Zarek Taylor, Joshua Krauss and Ned Kamimura were named to the second team for attaining a GPA over 3.2 during the 2008 campaign.

As a team, the Flames were amidst elite company as the team's combined GPA placed them 13th nationally.
