Men's Gymnastics To Complete In ECAC Championship|

CHICAGO – The UIC men’s gymnastics team travels to Philadelphia, Pa., to compete in the ECAC Championships Friday and Saturday, Temple University will play host to the event. The Flames have won the past three championships and will look to continue the streak with a fourth-consecutive ECAC Championship victory.
The championships take place at McGongile Hall with the team finals set to begin at 6:00 p.m. (CT) on Friday and the individual finals on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
Last year at the ECAC Championships, UIC won the tournament with a season-high score of 346.900 beating out the other five competitors Temple (338.300), William & Mary (336.400), Springfield (333.200), Navy (326.700) and Army (324.300).
UIC had two first place finishes at the 2011 ECAC Championships coming from Kyle Voissem in Rings with a score of14.900 and Dan Zerbel in the Parallel Bars with a score of 14.400
During the regular season UIC placed second against the host team Temple University at a meet held earlier in the year in Philadelphia, Pa. At the meet UIC had three first-place overall finishes including Zerbel, who led the floor exercises with a score 15.300, Lukasz Adamczyk a 14.700 mark on the pommel horse and Brett Valin claimed the top spot on the vault as the sophomore recorded a 14.800 score. Despite the three fist place finishes, UIC fell to Temple 337.700 to 325.500.
The Flames completed the regular season competition with a loss to the Golden Bears 347.750-328.700, and are now focused on the ECAC Championships and advancing to the NCAA Championships.
