Men's Gymnastics Heads To ECAC Championships

CHICAGO- The UIC men’s gymnastics teams makes it way to Annapolis, Md., to compete at the ECAC Championships, hosted by the US Naval Academy, Friday and Saturday at Macdonough Hall. The team championship and all-around competition gets underway Friday at 3 p.m. (CT), with individual competition scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday.

In addition to Navy, UIC will face off against William & Mary, Army and Temple, the 2013 champion.

The Owls took the title during last season’s team competition with a final score of 411.650, as the Flames produced a score of 409.350 for third place. While competing in individual round, Joseph Hodges collected first on horizontal bar and third in all-around competition.

Of the five other competing schools, UIC has seen William & Mary and Temple during the regular season. On March 8 in a tri-meet with SUNY-Brockport and William & Mary, UIC (401.350) took second behind the Tribe (412.450). The Flames competed against Temple on Feb. 15 along with Air Force, placing second with a tally of 403.550.
