CHICAGO – UIC gymnast Joseph Hodges has been named ECAC Gymnast of the Week, as it was announced by the conference on Wednesday.  Hodges won the all-around competition and took first place on pommel horse, while also producing season-high scores on floor and parallel bars in the Flames 412.550-407.650 defeat of No. 13 Temple on March 17.

A junior from Webster, N.Y., Hodges brought in a first-place score of 14.150 on pommel horse, while tabbing a season-high 14.150 to tie for sixth on floor and 14.250 for third on parallel bars.  Hodges went on to take fourth on horizontal bar with 13.750 and collected scores of 14.000 on rings and 12.900 on vault.

In the national rankings, Hodges is at No. 15 for the all-around with an 80.950 average, as he holds the team’s season-high score of 84.100, produced against Air Force on March 1.

Hodges and the Flames head into their final stretch of the season, as they make their way to Ann Arbor, Mich., to face No. 3 Michigan at the Cliff Keen Arena at 6 p.m. (CT) Saturday.
