CHICAGO – Coming off of a meet having produced its highest score of the season, the UIC men’s gymnastics team prepares to compete twice against No. 11 Air Force over three days.  The Flames host the Falcons at the Physical Education Building on Friday at 7 p.m. (CT) before coming back on Sunday for a 1 p.m. start.

UIC is returning after posting its highest score of the season (409.600) against No. 6 Minnesota on Sunday, Feb. 24.  Additionally, the Flames captured three first-place finishes and sophomore Brett Valin set a school record on vault with 14.950.

Junior Lukasz Adamczyk came away with a 14.900 on pommel horse for first and senior Dan Zerbel took the best score on horizontal bar with 14.600, while also placing second on parallel bars with 14.300.  Joseph Hodges had his best all-around score of the season with an 82.900 and took second on pommel horse with 14.300.

Jason Gaides led the Flames on floor with 13.700 and came in fourth on pommel horse with 13.750 and vault with 14.350.  Trent Jarrett also had a team best after scoring a 14.050 on rings.

During last season's competitions with Air Force, UIC fell short in both meets.  The Flames last exceeded the Falcons during the 2010-11 season when they finished on top in one-of-two quad meets.
