CHICAGO- The UIC men’s gymnastics team heads into its final home competition Sunday, when it welcomes No. 8 Iowa to the Physical Education Building at 2 p.m. (CT). Lukasz Adamczyk, Joseph Hodges, Jacob Mager and Lance Ridenoure will be recognized in a Senior Day ceremony.
UIC returns to the PEB after coming in second (403.550) in a tri-meet with Temple and Air Force on Feb. 15. Air Force finished in the top spot with 424.550 points, while Temple scored 402.500.
Hodges finished second in all-around competition with a 79.750 final score, also taking fifth on high bar with a score of 14.150. Christopher Root and Brett Valin also took part in the all-aroun. Root finished fourth with 78.100, while Valin’s score of 76.500 earned him fifth place.
Casey Mahoney-Muno scored 14.000 on floor exercise to lead the Flames, as Adamczyk placed third on pommel with 14.250. Trent Jarrett then finished fifth on rings (14.150), while Jacob Thurber scored 13.150 on parallel bars.
This is the second meeting with the Hawkeyes and Flames this season, as Iowa took part in the Windy City Invitational hosted by UIC on Jan. 18. Iowa finished fifth with a 417.700 final score at the meet.
