    CHICAGO - UIC gymnast Nick Persino was named the ECAC Gymnast of the Week for the period ending February 4, the conference office announced on Thursday.

    A 2008 NCAA Championship qualifier on the high bar, Persino posted impressive performances in the Flames win over Temple on January 31, claiming the vault title (15.50) and placing second on the horizontal bar (14.00).

    Persino and the Flames gymnastics squad head to Michigan this Saturday, February 7 at 7 p.m.
