Chicago, Ill.- The UIC men's and women's gymnastics teams gave fans a sneak peek at what's ahead for 2004 at the UIC Mixed Pairs exhibition on Saturday afternoon at the UIC Physical Education Building.

Divided into four teams mixed with members of both UIC squads, the Flames dazzled the crowd with a myriad of outstanding performances. After all was said and done, Team Two, which consisted of Veronique Meunier, Megan Fey, Stacey Magiera, Jessica Panos, Eric Novick, Andrew Krueger, Tim Morrison, and Steve Garner, was declared the winning group with a team average of 7.853.

Highlights on the day included strong high bar performances from Jon Joyce and Kyle True and spectacular floor routines by Rachael Zelinski and Alyson Cacciatore, who rocked the gym with a fantastic floor exercise that earned a meet-high score of 9.75.

The UIC women's gymnastics team begins the 2004 season with a trip to Fayetteville, Ark., on Friday, January 9th for a four-squad event with Arkansas, West Virginia and Minnesota at 7 p.m. The UIC men's gymnastics team starts competitive action the next day when they host the finest teams in the nation at the Windy City Invitational on Saturday, January 10th at the UIC PEB starting at 7 p.m.
