    WEST POINT, N.Y -The UIC men's gymnastics team put forth a number of top individual performances on Saturday, with one event crown going the Flames way a day after claiming the ECAC team championship.

    Neal Thompson was victorious on the parallel bars, claiming the individual event title with a 14.400 performance.

    Other top performers of the day include Nikolai Korepanov tying for third on the rings (14.550), followed by Andrew Stover (13.800) and Alex Kadar (13.500) on the same apparatus.

    Ned Kamimura placed third (15.400) while Bobby Solomon took sixth on the vault (14.950). Jeff Bill tied for sixth on the floor (13.900).

    For the Flames outstanding efforts at the conference championships, Charley Nelson was named the assistant coach of the year.

    The squad will now have over a week to prepare for the NCAA national qualifier session on April 16 in Minneapolis.
