Philadelphia, Pa.- Paced by event wins from Nikolai Korepanov and Tim Morrison, the UIC men's gymnastics team posted its best conference finish in three years at the 2007 ECAC Championships at Temple's McGonigle Hall on Saturday.

UIC tallied a 202.700, good for second behind the host Owls' 208.400. It was the Flames' best ECAC placing since winning the title in 2004.

Korepanov posted a 9.35 on rings to place first, edging out teammate Anthony May and his strong 9.3 tally in the event.

Morrison had his usual outstanding performance on high bar, earning a meet-best 9.0 in the event.

Jeff Bill had a nice day on floor, turning in a 9.15.

Morrison (50.45) and May (50.2) placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the all-around finals.

The Flames will cap the weekend at the ECAC Individual Event Finals on Sunday at McGonigle Hall.
