Annapolis, Md.- The UIC men's gymnastics team took fifth place at the 2006 ECAC/EIGL Championships at Navy's Macdonough Hall on Saturday afternoon.

The Flames posted a 199.300 to take fifth. William & Mary won the ECAC title with a 206.125, followed by Navy (203.775), Temple (203.175), and Army (200.00). Springfield College followed UIC with a sixth-place 186.500, while MIT (184.500) and James Madison (181.950) rounded out the field.

Tim Morrison paced the Flames in the all-around, taking seventh with a 49.450. Morrison came in third on floor exercise with a 9.0.

Phil Goss paced UIC on pommel horse with a first-place 8.750, followed by Nick Stavros in second place with an 8.6. Stavros also finished third in the still rings competition with a 9.1.

Eric Novick finished sixth on rings with an 8.8.

UIC resumes action at the ECAC Championships with individual event finals on Sunday.
