Men's Gymnastics Posts Season-Best Score In Win Over Air Force
March 13, 2006 USAFA, Colo.- Junior Tim Morrison's second all-around win in three days and a sweep of the event titles gave the UIC men's gymnastics team its second consecutive dual meet victory as the Flames scored a season-high 203.925 to down Air Force at Cadet West Gym. Morrison scored a 50.475 in the all-around, backed by a high bar victory and five top-four event finishes, to take the crown. Seniors Nick Stavros, Phil Goss and Andrew Krueger continued to post stellar scores this weekend. Stavros and Goss shared first place in the pommel horse standings with 8.650 tallies, while Krueger won the floor exercise with a 9.150. Two freshmen played a huge role in the win with victories of their own, as Anthony May captured the parallel bars title (8.3) and Alex Kadar won the vault crown (9.1). Sophomore Brad Trompeter rounded out the UIC event wins with a 9.15 on still rings. The host Falcons posted a 183.475. UIC faces James Madison in Harrisonburg, Va., this Sunday.
