Iowa City, Iowa - The Iowa Hawkeyes captured five out of six events en route to a 209.45-197.9 victory over the men's gymnastics team at the Iowa Fieldhouse on Friday night.

UIC (2-12) received a solid performance from senior captain Dave Johnson (Chicago, Ill./St. Rita). Johnson recorded a first-place finish on the still rings with a 9.175 and helped UIC win the vault with a second-place mark of 9.250.

Senior Anthony Cirullo (Glenwood, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) turned in UIC's top marks with a second-place finish on the floor exercise (8.800) and a third on the vault (8.950). Junior Chris Coorlim (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) earned a season-best, second-place finish on the pommel horse (8.900).

Freshman Ambrose Jackson (Yorkville, Ill./Yorkville) tied a season-high on the parallel bars with a sixth-place score of 8.250 while junior Frankie Pretzel (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way) scored a career-best on the horizontal bar (8.600).

UIC will be back in action on Sunday, March 4th as they will host Temple in a ECAC conference meet at the Physical Education Building at 2 PM. Sunday will also mark senior day as we will celebrate the careers of Dave Johnson, Anthony Cirullo and Frankie Pretzel.
