Men's Gymnastics Gives Illinois All It Can Handle Before Being Downed 210.35-208.95|

Chicago, Ill. - With the Fighting Illini men's basketball team playing in Chicago against Northwestern and the UIC men's basketball team participating in the ESPN Bracket Buster Saturday on national television, the forgotten competition may have been UIC versus Illinois in men's gymnastcs.
On this day, it was most likely the best action of the day on the West Side of Chicago, as Illinois edged UIC, 210.35-208.95 at the UIC Physical Education Building on Saturday afternoon.
For the Flames, Neil Faustino was outstanding winning the all-around title with a score of 52.3. The standout sophomore also won the rings (9.25) and high bar (8.5) titles on the day to pace UIC.
Matt Musielak added second-place finishes on floor (9.3) and parallel bars (8.7) for the Flames.
UIC came up big on still rings, outscoring the Illini 35.5-33.1. The Flames also bested Illinois on vault, 36.3-36.2.
UIC will be back in action this coming weekend for a two-meet home-stand with Air Force. On Friday, February 28, the Flames and Air Force start at 7:00 p.m., while on Sunday, March 2, the two squads engage in a rematch at 2:00 p.m.
Both competitions will be conducted at the UIC Physical Education Building.
