    Final Results Get Acrobat Reader

    PHILADELPHIA- Jason Gaides took a team best 14.400 on vault, as the UIC men’s gymnastics team competed in a tri-meet with Temple and Air Force Academy. The squad as a whole place second in the three-field team against first-place Air Force Academy (424.550) and Temple with 402.500 points.

    Despite the second-place team finish, there were several notable individual finishes for the Flames. Casey Mahoney-Muno, Lukasz Adamczyk, Trent Jarrett, Jason Gaides, Jacob Thurber and Joseph Hodges led UIC in their respective events.

    Mahoney-Muno scored 14.000 on floor exercise. Adamczyk finished third on pommel with a final score of 14.250.

    Jarrett’s score of 14.150 was good for fifth on rings, as Thurber came away with a 13.150 on parallel bars. Hodges tied for fifth on high bar scoring 14.150.

    Hodges, Christopher Root and Brett Valin took part in all-around competition. Hodges' score of 79.750 put him in second place, while Root took fourth with 78.100 points and Valin finished fifth out of seven competitors with 76.500.

    Next up on the schedule for the Flames is the Winter Cup Challenge (beginning Feb. 19), set to take place in Las Vegas at the Las Vegas Sports Center.
