Harrisonburg, Va.- The 1-2 all-around punch of senior Tim Morrison and sophomore Anthony May headlined a first-place team effort by the UIC men's gymnastics team at the 2007 JMU Open hosted by James Madison on Saturday.

UIC won the meet with a 193.300. William and Mary followed with a 189.400, with Navy (188.8), Springfield College (179.750) and the host Dukes (158.700) rounding out the standings.

The Flames placed at least one gymnast in the Top 3 of every event's final standings.

Morrison won the all-around with a score of 46.75, followed by May's second-place 45.6. Morrison also led UIC with a third-place high bar score of 8.55

Freshman Nikolai Korepanov continued the outstanding start to his career with two victories. The rookie won the still rings competition with an 8.9, followed by a parallel bars victory (8.5).

Andrew Stover made his UIC debut a memorable one, as the U.S. Junior National Team member tallied an 8.6 on floor exercise to lead the Flames and place second overall.

Another rookie, Joe Ernst, posted a team-best score with a third-place 8.0 on pommel horse.

The Flames return home to host ECAC rival MIT at the Physical Education Building next Saturday, February 10th at 7:00 p.m.
