Iowa City, Iowa- Winning efforts by freshman Nikolai Korepanov and sophomore Nick Persino on rings and high bar, respectively, highlighted the UIC men's gymnastics team's dual meet against Iowa at the UI Fieldhouse on Saturday.

Korepanov showed no rust as the rookie scored an impressive 9.350 on rings to win the event.

Persino won on high bar with a tally of 8.250.

UIC scored a 186.400 overall, bested by the Hawkeyes' 200.350.

The Flames return to the gym on February 3rd at ECAC rival James Madison in Harrisonburg, Va.
