Minneapolis, Minn.- Senior Nick Stavros continued to muscle his way to wins on Saturday, winning his third and fourth individual events titles of the season in the UIC men's gymnastics team's meet against Minnesota in the Sports Pavilion on Saturday afternoon.

Stavros picked up a still rings win with a 9.1 and took home the pommel horse crown against the Gophers with an 8.950.

Junior Tim Morrison won the floor exercise with a tally of 8.950. Morrison also led UIC in the all-around with a 48.700.

UIC's young guns were able to shine as well, as freshman Bobby Solomon won his first career event with a 9.1 on vault. He was followed by fellow rookie Nick Persino in the event, who posted a second-place 8.950.

Minnesota won the meet with a 201.200. UIC posted a team tally of 196.250.

As a team the Flames bested the Gophers on still rings (34.550) and vault (35.400).

UIC is back in action at the Shenandoah Open hosted by James Madison in Harrisonburg, Virginia next Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Stavros will head to the prestigious 2006 Winter Cup Challenge to compete against the nation's best in Las Vegas from Feb. 2-4.
