UIC Men's Gymnastics Concludes Windy City Invitational|

CHICAGO - The UIC men’s gymnastics team began its 2012 campaign by hosting the 42nd annual Windy City Invitational at the Physical Education Building in Chicago, Ill. Among competition from Ohio State, Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan and Iowa, the Flames completed the day with a fifth-place finish and a combined team score of 327.200.
The Flames started out competing on the floor, where Dan Zerbel (Portage, Mich./Portage Central) posted a team-high 15.200. Keith Lage (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) held a 13.900, while Alex Bymaster (Walnut, Calif./Walnut), Bryan Pusateri (Lake Forest, Ill./Stevenson) and Aaron Eyster (Rochelle, Ill./Rochelle Township) all received 13.800.
Lukasz Adamczyk (Deerfield, Ill./Adlai E Stevenson) led the Flames on the pommels with a score of 13.800. Joseph Hodges (Webster, N.Y./Webster Christian) and David Ishida (Woodbridge, Calif./Lodi) followed close behind with 13.500 and 13.400, respectively.
On the rings, Ishida turned out a score of 14.500, while Justin Maxwell (Chicago, Ill./Chicago Agricultural) produced a 13.900 and Lage came in with a 13.800.
Eyster came out with a team best in the vault, posting a 14.300. Zerbel and Brett Valin (Chicago, Ill./Lakes Community) each held a 14.100 to round out the top performers of the competition.
Ishida scored a 14.100 on the parallel bars, while Dan Hutton (Mokena, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) followed with a 13.900.
UIC completed the day on the high bars, where Bymaster reached 13.100, followed by Maxwell with 12.600 and Valin with 12.100.
The Flames return to action Saturday, Jan. 21, when they travel to face Minnesota at 7:00 p.m. (CT).
