    Final Results Get Acrobat Reader

    CHICAGO – The UIC men’s gymnastics team held their first meet of the season on Saturday at the Physical Education Building against Illinois.  Despite their efforts, the Flames came up short in a 425.450-385.750 final to the Illini.

    Jason Gaides, Justin Maxwell and David Ishida posted the best scores on the team through their respective events.  Gaides’ top performance came with a third-place finish on vault, 14.350, while coming in fourth on floor with 14.100 and recording second in all-around with a total of 78.200.

    Maxwell also had a third-place finish, with his coming on rings with a score of 14.700.  He also had the top score of 13.250 for UIC on horizontal bars.

    Ishida competed on pommel horse and produced a 12.450, and took fourth after scoring a 14.100 on parallel bars.

    The top final of the day came from Illlinois’ Mike Wilner on rings, where he scored a 15.600.

    The Flames are back at the PEB on Saturday, Jan. 19, when they host the annual Windy City Invitational.  Competition is scheduled to get underway at 7:30 p.m. (CT).
