33rd Annual Windy City Invitational Crown Goes To #2 Ohio State|

Chicago, Ill. - In the 33 years of the Windy City Men's Gymnastics Invitational, many talented gymnasts have passed through the doors of the UIC Physical Education Building, and this year added more to that list, as second-ranked Ohio State picked-up their eighth Windy City title with a team score of 213.000 in front of 1, 638 at the UIC PEB.
#7 Iowa was second (208.750), followed by #6 Michigan (207.150), #3 Illinois (207.050), #8 Minnesota (202.900) and 13th-ranked UIC with a score of 199.450.
The Buckeyes' Randy Monahan took the all-around title with a score of 53.850, followed by Guillermo Alvarez of Minnesota (52.2). The Flames' Neil Faustino was seventh with a tally of 50.6.
Alvarez also picked-up wins on floor and vault with scores of 9.45.
Other individual event winners were Ryan Fleming of Minnesota on pommel horse (9.4), Conan Parzuchowski of Michigan on rings (9.4), Erik Garnett of Illinois on parallel bars (8.85) and Scott Wetterling of Illinois on high bar (9.25).
Faustino had the best UIC finish on the evening, taking second on rings with a score of 9.1. Freshman Nick Stavros competed well scoring an 8.65 on rings to finish seventh, while Keith Kerrigan added an eighth-place finish on vault with a score of 9.15.
