Gaides finished with a final score of 81.800 in All-Around competition at the NCAA Qualifier, earning a sixth-place finish. He scored a 14.000 on floor exercise and was UIC's best score on parallel bars with a 12.600. Gaides also received a score of 13.750 on rings.
The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced on December 11 that the University of Illinois at Chicago's UIC Pavilion has been selected as the site of the 2018 NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championships. The three-day competition will be held at the UIC Pavilion in April 2018.
