Cedrick Banks Named Horizon League Men's Basketball Player Of The Week

Chicago, Ill. - University of Illinois at Chicago senior Cedrick Banks is the Horizon League Player of the Week for the period ending December 12, 2004, it was announced by the Horizon League on Monday evening.
This is the first time this season and the fourth time during his career, that Banks has taken home Horizon League Player of the Week accolades,
Banks scored 21 of his season-high 24 points in the second half on Sunday, leading the Flames to a 76-67 victory at UNC Wilmington.
The 6-foot-2 guard was 7-for-14 from the field in the half and connected on five of his career-high tying six three-pointers during the final stanza. Banks has now score 20 points or more in a single half 10 times during his career.
The 24-point effort also vaulted Banks into fourth on the UIC career scoring list as he has now amassed 1,641 points during his Flames tenure.
Banks and the rest of the Flames will be back in action on Tuesday, Dec. 14th, when they take on #9 Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium at 8:00 p.m. CST.
