Chicago, Ill.- The wait is finally over, as the much-anticipated contest between the UIC men's basketball team and DePaul at the UIC Pavilion takes place this Saturday night, Nov. 22, at 7 p.m. A limited number of tickets still remain for the game and are available for purchase at the UIC Pavilion Box Office. The game will air on Lakeshore Public Television and has just been added to ESPN Full Court and ESPN360.com. It can also be viewed on the Horizon League Network at horizonleaguenetwork.tv. Adam Levinson and Kenny Williams will call the action live on WIND 560 AM, with streaming audio also available on uicflames.com. The adidas Mobile Tour will be outside of the Pavilion prior to the contest with games and prizes, and the first 1,000 UIC students will receive a complimentary commemorative Melafusic "1,000 Strong" t-shirt. As always, UIC students are admitted free with a valid I-Card. This will be the first-ever collision between the Flames (1-1) and the Blue Demons (1-0) on UIC's campus. It is just the sixth all-time meeting and only the fourth since UIC became a Division I program in 1981. The two programs were supposed to play each other in the first game at the Pavilion in December of 1981, but an operating engineers strike halted construction on the building and forced the game to be played in Rosemont. Last year the Flames chalked up their first-ever win over DePaul with an 85-80 victory at Allstate Arena on Dec. 15, 2007. Senior guard Josh Mayo leads the Flames in scoring with 20.0 ppg in two games. Mayo, the Horizon League Preseason Player of the Year, scored a game-high 27 points against UNI on Wednesday to move into 11th place on UIC's career scoring charts with 1,247 career points. Sophomore forward Tori Boyd is coming off of a career game against UNI, scoring a career-high 17 points and hitting four three-pointers in UIC's 84-77 victory. If you haven't seen the inside of the revamped Pavilion, tonight is the perfect night to see what all the buzz is about. A new jumbo video board, a new ribbon board and a refinished court make the Flames' home arena better than ever, and a historic clash against a city rival will only add to the electric atmosphere at the Pavilion.
