CHICAGO- The UIC men's basketball team opens the 2009-10 season this Saturday, Nov. 14 against the University of Illinois-Springfield at the UIC Pavilion at 3 p.m.

The Flames open their 63rd season of basketball in the modern era and their 29th campaign as a Division I program.

Saturday also marks the 14th season of the longest-tenured Division I coach in the state of Illinois, UIC head coach Jimmy Collins. Collins is the Flames' all-time winningest coach with 210 victories.

UIC has 12 newcomers on this year's roster but returns junior guard Robo Kreps to anchor the Flames' young, athletic group.
