UIC Athletics, ESPN Radio 1000 Partner To Air Men's Basketball Games

CHICAGO- UIC Athletics and ESPN Radio 1000 announced on Thursday, Oct. 29 that Flames men's basketball games will return to ESPN 1000 as the two sides agreed to a partnership for the 2009-10 campaign. The deal marks a reunion between UIC and ESPN 1000, where Flames games were broadcast from 1997-2007. At least 16 regular season contests and the Horizon League Men's Basketball Championship opening round will air live on ESPN 1000, while all other games will be broadcast on tape delay or streamed live on ESPNChicago.com. ESPN 1000 is part of the country's largest sports radio network. ESPN 1000 is a 50,000-watt station that reaches 36 states and Canada and features a mix of national and local programming such as Mike and Mike in the Morning, Waddle & Silvy, The Afternoon Saloon, The Scott Van Pelt Show and much more. In addition to UIC men's basketball, ESPN 1000 is also the official radio home of the Chicago Bulls.
