CHICAGO - Horizon League Men's Basketball Media Day was held at the InterContinental in Rosemont, Ill., Tuesday, and UIC head coach Howard Moore and senior point guard Gary Talton were on hand to represent the Flames. UICFlames.com and the Horizon League Network is your exclusive home for UIC Basketball preseason coverage.

UIC will officially open practice in preparation for the 2012-13 season on Friday (Oct. 12). The Flames will return four starters from the 2011-12 campaign, including the highest-scoring returning backcourt in the League. Moore and his staff have also welcomed eight newcomers to the mix, including two Division I transfers that will be immediately eligible.

Talton, the anchor of UIC's returning core, was a Horizon League All-Newcomer Team selection last season after leading the team in scoring, field goals made (122), free throw percentage (.867), free throws made (78) and assists per game (3.3). Overall, UIC returns 65 percent of its scoring from the 2011-12 campaign. UIC will open the regular season on Sunday, Nov. 11 against UC Riverside.

Moore and Talton participated in a Podium Q&A session, a live interview with Jim Barbar and Will Haskett from the Horizon League Network, and recorded preseason PSA's for the Horizon League Game of the Week telecasts.
