Chicago, Ill. - Former UIC men's basketball standout Cedrick Banks has continued his stellar play on the professional level in France as he was named the foreign MVP of the Ligue Nationale de Basket Pro-B Division this week.

In his rookie campaign, Banks paced Besancon (23-10) to a regular-season league title and automatic ascension into the French A League next season.

The 6-foot-2 guard leads the league in scoring, averaging 20.7 points per game, while also chipping in with 4.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per outing.

Besancon has one regular season contest remaining before playoffs begin next week.
