CHICAGO- The first-round of the CollegeInsider.com postseason tournament will feature a little Chi-town flavor. It was revealed Sunday that UIC will host crosstown rival Chicago State for the CIT first-round next Wednesday (March 20) at the Pavilion beginning at 7:00 p.m. Single-game tickets are now on sale through the UIC Athletic Ticket Office.

Tickets start at just $10, and can be reserved by calling the ticket hotline at 312-413-UIC1.

UIC (17-15) garnered an at-large berth into the tournament, marking its first postseason appearance since 2004. Chicago State (11-21) claimed the Great West Conference automatic berth after capturing the tournament title with a 75-60 victory over Houston Baptist at the Jones Convocation Center Saturday night. It marks the first time that the Cougars have advanced to the postseason as a Division I member.

UIC head coach Howard Moorehas orchestrated a turnaround this season that has been bolstered by an increase of nine total wins (17) from the 2011-12 campaign (8), including a winning percentage increase of 26.46. During the regular season, UIC posted notable wins over 2012 postseason foes Mercer, Iona, Northwestern, Colorado State, Cleveland State and Milwaukee. The Flames also garnered the No. 5 seed in the Horizon League Tournament, their best regular season finish since 2008.

The UIC-Chicago State rivalry dates back to the 1947-48 season, but Wednesday's game will mark the first time the two teams have gone head-to-head since 2005. The Cougars lead the all-time series, 34-28.

The CIT's complete bracket will be revealed after the NCAA Tournament, National Invitation Tournament (NIT) and College Basketball Invitational (CBI) selections are made Sunday night.
