Chicago, Ill. - UIC will be the No. 15 seed in the West Region and take on #2 Oklahoma on Friday, March 5, in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament (11:30 a.m./CBS-TV/ESPN Radio 1000) in Dallas, Texas.

The Flames, who enter with a record of 20-13, captured the 2002 Horizon League Tournament title while the Sooners (27-4) enter ranked third in the country and are fresh off a win over then top-ranked Kansas in the Big 12 Tournament Championship.

This is UIC's second-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament as they first reached the 'Big Dance' in 1998, falling to #8 UNC Charlotte in the first round. Oklahoma, meanwhile, is tournament tested, owning a 20-23 all-time NCAA Tournament record.
