Men's Basketball Squares Off With Wright State On Wednesday Night In Pivotal Horizon League Clash

Chicago, Ill - The UIC men's basketball team plays its regular-season home finale on Wednesday night versus Wright State at 7:00 p.m., with both teams still in the hunt for third place in the Horizon League. The Flames (13-12, 7-7) will honor their four seniors, Cedrick Banks, Armond Williams and Josip Petrusic, as well as student assistant coach Martell Bailey, prior to the game with the Raiders (13-13, 7-7). UIC and Wright State are currently tied with Detroit for third place in the Horizon League. Both the Flames and Raiders can clinch third place and a first-round bye in next week's Horizon League Tournament with wins in their final two games and a Detroit loss. The Flames wrap up the regular season on Saturday at Butler while the Raiders host UW-Green Bay on Sunday in their final game. Detroit travels to UW-Green Bay on Wednesday and hosts Youngstown State in its final two games. Wright State won the earlier meeting with UIC this season, downing the Flames 72-61 on Jan. 26th at the Nutter Center. UIC has enjoyed great success versus the Raiders at the Pavilion, though, going 12-1 in 13 all-time meetings in the arena. Banks heads into the contest with Wright State needing just 15 points to reach 2,000 for his career and just 41 points to become the school's all-time scoring leader.
