Chicago, Ill. - The UIC men's basketball team has had its fair share of marquee non-conference wins during the 2005-06 season. The Flames will look to add another on Saturday evening when they travel to meet Ohio Valley Conference regular-season champion Murray State at the Regional Events Center at 6:00 p.m. CST. Flames fans can listen to the game live via the internet at uicflames.com with Mike Kamin and Chris Boden bringing you all the end-to-end action. UIC (13-13) is fresh off a win at Horizon League leader UW-Milwaukee on Wednesday night, snapping the nation's second longest home winning streak in the process. The Flames have now won their last three road games, but face a tall task as they strive to make it four-in-a-row. The Racers (19-5) enter Saturday's tilt on a nine-game winning streak and secured their first outright OVC regular-season title since 1999 on Thursday night with a 77-52 win at Tennessee State. Murray State, which is 11-1 at home this year, features an offense that averages over 70 points per game and a defense that limits teams to less than 61 points per outing and only 40% shooting from the field. Saturday's contest is part of both team's participation in the BracketBusters presented by eBay pool. This is UIC's fourth appearance in the event with the Flames owning a 3-0 record in past BracketBusters games with wins over Bowling Green (2003), UNC Wilmington (2004) and Georgia Southern (2005). UIC has won five of its last seven games and has not dropped a road decision since Jan. 21st at Detroit. Freshman Josh Mayo has been red-hot for the Flames, averaging 15.0 points while shooting 54% from the field and 50% from three-point range in his last four games. Senior Justin Bowen continues to lead the team in scoring (15.5 ppg) while ranking second in rebounding (7.2). He ranks in the top 10 in the Horizon League in each category, as well as field goal percentage, free throw percentage and steals.
