Flames Draw Bradley for BracketBusters Contest

CHICAGO - The UIC men's basketball team drew in-state foe Bradley for the 2013 Ramada BracketBusters contest. The Flames and Braves will meet for the fifth time in school history on Saturday, Feb. 23, at 3:00 p.m. CST at the Pavilion. Bradley owns a 3-1 all-time series lead versus UIC. The two squads will be meeting for the first time since the 2008-09 season opener (11/14/08). Bradley will be making its first trip to the Pavilion since Nov. 10, 2007. The Flames (14-9, 5-5 Horizon) are 8-1 all-time in BracketBusters games, including a 67-63 win at Eastern Illinois last season (2/18/12). Against Bradley, UIC will be playing its sixth in-state foe this season. Bradley is 13-10 this season, with a 5-6 mark in Missouri Valley Conference play. The Braves are being led in scoring by junior guard Walt Lemon Jr., who is scoring 14.8 points per game. Senior guard Dyricus Simms-Edwards has added 11.8 points per contest, while junior forward Tyshon Pickett is chipping in 11.0 points per game. 2013 will mark the final iteration of BracketBusters; the Horizon League was a founding member of the event 11 years ago.
